Miami-Dade County Hospitals consist of 14 facilities: UM/JMH Ryder Trauma Center, Miami Children's Hospital, Baptist Health Systems of South Florida, Kendall Medical Center, South Shore Hospital, Jackson Health System, Larkin Community Hospital, Miami Jewish Home & Hospital for the Aged at Douglas Gardens, Deering Hospital, Mercy Hospital, UM/JM Burn Center, Mount Sinai Medical Center and Miami Heart Institute, UM/Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Cedars Medical Center.

Mercy Hospital has been serving the people of Miami-Dade County as the only Catholic hospital for more than 50 years. Mercy Hospital is a Member of Catholic Health East and is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine, Florida. Mercy most recently was the winner of the J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Hospital for Service Excellence. The 483-bed hospital currently has more than 900 physicians on staff representing 28 medical specialties. Its Centers of Excellence include: The Heart Center at Mercy Hospital, the Miami Cancer Center at Mercy Hospital, Minimally Invasive Surgical Institute and the Orthopaedic Institute at Mercy Hospital.

The Diabetes Treatment Center (DTC) at Mercy Hospital has been serving the South Florida community since 1986 and offers one of the most established diabetes education programs in Miami-Dade County. Mercy Hospital special areas of concentration include: Emergency Services, Home Health, Mental Health Services, Mission & Ministry, Orthopaedics, Outpatient Pharmacy, Mercy Outpatient Center, Rehabilitation, Special Immunology Services, and Women Services.

Jackson Health System has more than 150 physicians on the Best Doctors in America List and has been honored by U.S. News & World Report for seven specialties. Jackson Memorial Hospital takes many roles in South Florida. For example it is a regional referral center, a magnet for medical research and innovation and the only full-service provider for the uninsured and medically indigent in Miami-Dade County. With 1,498 licensed beds, it offers life-saving options not available at other South Florida institutions.

The Ryder Trauma Center is the only adult and pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center in South Florida. This center serves as a regional resource and treats over 3,000 patient’s annually. Jackson Memorial Hospital’s 126-bed Newborn Intensive Care Center is a regional referral facility. It includes a 66-bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit, which is Florida’s largest such facility. The Rehabilitation Center is one of only 17 in the nation designated as a Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center.
